Tiger looks a bit annoyed, doesn't he? Well, trust me, he's not the only one! After getting most excellent individual instruction at my Sunday afternoon knitting group [thanks again, Aimee!] , I was ready to get back to the heel turn that night. Everything was going well, but somehow someway I made a mistake. Oh oh. Back track. Start again.  Oh oh. Back track. Oh oh. Dropped a damn stitch. Oh oh. There's another one. Arrghh. Start frogging back a bit. Who am I kidding? There is no way I can get those fat fuzzy stitches back onto my size 0 dpns. Forgetaboutit. So, as you see in the evidence above, the 12 inch leg is now back into ball form. Pffffttt.

So...I've started again, only this time with a yarn that I think I'll like knitting with much better. Knit Picks Essential. In black. Of course. Doh. For this great charity! - Socks for Soldiers. Which can be found on Ravelry, too --- here. :)  AND btw, the military branches are phasing out the black socks, so, don't be saying you can't knit with black yarn.  Next pair, grass green! :)

 

can you say lucky?

This afternoon, I was in the basement on the treadmill, when I heard a horrible crash. At first I thought someone had backed into the garage door! So I came upstairs to look out the bathroom window, which overlooks the driveway. This is what I found as soon as I walked into the bedroom.


YIKES! , the wall mirror had crashed and shattered all over the floor. If I'd been knitting on the potty (ha) I would have been hit by crashing panels of glass! Scary!!!

I feel so very thankful that no one (or the kitties!) was in there.  Could have been a very serious situation. If I'd been in the shower, I would have had to wait for someone to find me! Now THAT is a scary thought!
               
I need a drink.

yoo hoo here i am

I had a pleasant evening at the Starbucks on Indiana Ave. one recent night while my husband was across the street at his function. Two wonderful hours of coffee (why do I always forget to ask for decaf at night?! WiReD.), people watching, knitting and getting caught up on my iPod podcasts. I need to do this more often!

I'm still knitting the same damn black sock. Ugh. I have been carrying this one little half of a pair for months and it sure looks like it! SOMETIME it will be on a soldier's foot (lucky guy, huh? maybe not! ha!) but for now I am thinking it's just my little attempt at mindless therapeutic knitting. Mindless enough to drop stitches, though, and have to backtrack to pick them up. #%@&!

BLOG STATUS ::: At first THIS was supposed to be a knitting blog, but we know how much I actually knit/produce, [coughcough]so that's kind of an absurd premise for a blog for ME. I'm more than my knitting, thank God. I think. I hope. I better be!
